The CIR keeps immunization records for New York City's children.

Reporting to Go Paperless in 2008

Starting January 1, 2009,* New York State requires that providers electronically report

immunizations administered to patients younger than 19 years.

New York City providers should continue reporting electronically to the Citywide Immunization Registry (CIR) by:

• Using the Online Registry, or

• Sending electronic files extracted from billing, encounter or clinical information systems.

Providers with offices outside NYC must electronically report immunizations administered to patients younger

than 19 years to the New York State Immunization Information System (NYSIIS).

* NYC providers who report on paper will have until January 1, 2009, to set up access for electronic reporting to the CIR.
